Acrylic and Oil Paintings

Paintings

My personal collection of artwork showcases a range of creative expressions across three distinct sections. The first section features an array of oil and acrylic paintings, capturing the vibrant colors and dynamic textures that these mediums offer. The second section is dedicated to illustrations, showcasing my use of graphite, charcoal, and ink. Finally, the photography collection explores the beauty of the world through the lens, capturing fleeting moments and intricate details. Each section reflects my passion for art and desire to convey emotions and stories through the artistic lens.

Moi Koi

  • Completed July 2025

  • Medium: Acrylic on Canvas

  • Dimensions: 24*18 inches

Moi Koi is the most recent addition to a series of paintings that I have been working on throughout the summer of 2025. The title is a play on words intended to emphasize that this is an ongoing series and there will be more koi fish to look forward to in the future of my work.

The overall series of paintings includes various series of tiles arranged seemingly above or around a pond that can be seen through the gaps within the arrangement of the tiles. At the start of this summer, I realized that I hadn't been painting for the past few months, and getting back into the swing of things became a daunting task. So I started simple, with a blank square and a symmetrical pattern and pushed forward from there into this series of mosaic acrylic concoctions.

Moi Koi specifically is inspired painting is by a mosaic sidewalk, the dirt hole I turned into a pond in my childhood backyard, and a fixation on phthalocyanine blue paint that has made itself home in the fabric of my stained clothing.

Eye of the Eagle Nebula

  • Completed February 2024

  • Medium: Oil on Canvas

  • Dimensions: 20*16 inches

The Eye of the Eagle Nebula is a slight personification of Messier 16. Upon looking at various images provided by the Hubble telescope, a section of M16, or the Eagle Nebula, caught my eye on account of its mythical presence. M16 is also home to a section of space affectionately known as the Pillars of Creation, so metaforically it makes sense to house a being. In this piece, I broke away from my usual style and went for a more realistic portrait of M16. However, in the process of painting, I found myself frustrated with the traditional lay of oil paint; it did not reflect the speckled appearance of the light bouncing off the gaseous clouds of space. So I switched to a dotting or tapping tactic to flush out the edges.
